It’s safe to say that almost nothing brings people together in quite the same way that food does. Food and drink have the power to cross divides, unite people from very different walks of life and infiltrate every aspect of society – from art and literature to television, films, and, of course, our social lives.
Besides that, there is the fact that human beings both eat to live and live to eat, which means our attention is easily grabbed by anything involving food – from mouth-watering adverts to glossy food magazines and YouTube cookery tutorials.
That’s why food and drink influencers are so popular these days. They tap into our love of delicious food and provide us with entertainment, inspiration and plenty of tantalising recipes that many of us love to replicate at home.
In fact, so widespread is their appeal, that there are now literally hundreds of food and drink influencers out there. Plus, more and more brands are forming fruitful collaborations with them in order to promote their products.
Here at Find Your Influencer, we work with many prominent food influencers and we are proud of every campaign we have been a part of. Here are three stand-out influencer campaign examples that clearly show just what a difference a great food influencer can make to a brand’s appeal.
Aldi’s ‘Amazing Christmas’ Food Influencer Campaign
Over the past few years, Aldi has become a cornerstone of UK supermarket shopping. The brand attracts customers in droves due to its winning blend of good-quality products and low prices. However, the brand’s managers still felt it could do with an influencer boost and asked FYI for help in sourcing the right person to promote its Amazing Christmas range. The goal of this influencer campaign was to assure customers that the store could provide the quality and quantity of delicacies necessary to guarantee a festive feast.
We began crafting a powerful campaign that involved five popular influencers who each had a genuine connection and passion for Aldi’s products, and followings that included Aldi’s own target audience. These influencers promoted Aldi via their social media channels and through 5 dedicated YouTube videos, amassing a grand total of 200,000 views. Altogether, the campaign reached over 1.5 million people, successfully spreading the word about Aldi’s Christmas offerings.
Little Freddie’s Baby Food Influencer Campaign
Little Freddie is a sustainable food company that specialises in creating high-quality, tasty and nutritious baby and toddler food, with every product offering little ones an ideal blend of delicious flavours and healthy ingredients.
The aim of their food influencer campaign was to generate awareness of their key product ranges, as well as to increase traffic to their website and network of stockists. To help them achieve this, we researched and engaged with 95 popular parenting influencers with an audience that matched Little Freddie’s target demographic. These influencers were given unique trackable codes and affiliate links, so the activity of this campaign could be closely monitored as they began promoting Little Freddie’s products on their social media channels.
In total, 604 pieces of content were produced during the course of this baby food influencer campaign. From those, 55,400 engagements were made and the campaign reached 1.3 million. The media value of this campaign was £80,000.
Sipful’s Canned Cocktails Micro-Influencer Campaign
Sipful is a brand that creates premium canned cocktails, packaged in artfully decorated 250ml cans. Founded by Darius and Emily, the company dedicates itself to using 100% natural ingredients and flavours in all of its cocktails.
For their drinks-based influencer campaign, the Sipful team wanted to draw attention to their new brand and their premium canned cocktail range. They also wanted to educate their target audience about their unique product, boost sales and drive more traffic to their company website at the same time.
To make this campaign as effective as possible, we researched and developed organic relationships with micro-influencers with an engaged following that incorporated Sipful’s key audience. Only micro-influencers that had a genuine relationship and passion for Sipful’s brand were targeted, in order to produce authentic storytelling in their content, which was posted across their social media channels.
Each influencer was given a detailed creative brief to help them come up with their own unique content. Affiliate links and tracking codes allowed us to closely monitor their activity and provide detailed monthly reports of the campaign’s metrics.
In total, 250 micro-influencers were featured in this large campaign, which had a reach of over 5 million people and 110,000 engagements. 1162 pieces of content were produced during the campaign, which had a media value of $224,866.
